How to prepare for your Fall Mini Session

Fall Mini Sessions are all about capturing beautiful photos of your family with the gorgeous backdrop of the changing leaves. This year I am pairing the beautiful leaves with the fall aesthetic of a vintage truck!

Please read through the following information to help you prepare and make the most of your session.

What to wear


Take this time to get excited and dress for the Holidays! When thinking about the color palette for your outfits, you want to pick colors that contrast with the beautiful fall trees so that you and your family stand out beautifully without clashing.

REDS | DARK BLUES | MAROONS | MUSTARDS | NEUTRALS

Plaids, soft hats and scarfs are also great additional and tights under girls dresses will help with any slip ups. Please keep in mind that it may be chilly so please bring jackets to keep the kiddos nice and warm!

WHAT to expect


Although mini session's are only 15 minutes long, that does not mean we wont get to have fun and get plenty of amazing photos. The BIGGEST thing you can do so that the session runs smoothly is stay relaxed throughout, even with rowdy kiddos, and let me do the job of getting beautiful images. 

My goal in each session is to capture your family in a more relaxed type of way. I will guide you into prompts and areas with beautiful lighting and will give subtle pose changes. Your job is to love on your family and simply HAVE FUN! Dont be afraid to pick up and snuggle your beautiful kids or your spouse and I will just do my thing. 

I will ask any kiddos to look at me a couple times so you have the "traditional" family shot but the rest of the time we will do some fun stuff like walking, dancing, tickle attacks, etc.

WHEN you arrive


Your mini session will take place at RENFROW FARMS in Matthews, NC

ADDRESS: 409 W Charles St, Matthews, NC 28105


When you arrive you will see parking along the side of the road. You can park here and freshen up before heading to find me. You should be able to see me from the road. If this changes I will send out an email. With that said, please arrive at least 15 minutes early!


Use the time when you step out of the car to get any last details ready (one last hair brush, change baby’s diaper, etc)

Parents, relax and let me worry about the kids. You just love on them, smile, swing, make it fun.

AFTER the session


Soft Proofing: The first thing I will do after you session is cull through all the images. During the culling process I will delete any images that are repetitive, have blinking eyes, or unflattering positions, etc. I will apply a very basic edit, if needed, across the gallery and will upload them to a soft proof gallery within 1 week. You will then make your selections and upgrade any additional images if you would like. After I receive your chosen images I will begin working on your gallery. Galleries can take up to 4 weeks from the time I receive your selections and I do complete galleries based on the order they come in. You will receive your gallery via email with instructions on how to pick your favorites and how to download
